Saudi Arabia awards Juaymah offshore platform contract

Saudi Aramco has awarded the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for its Bypass System project for Juaymah offshore platform, a source close to the project told Zawya Projects. 

“Saudi Aramco has awarded USD 300M contract to National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC)," the source told Zawya Projects.

The bidders for the EPC contract comprised of Saipem, JV of L&T Hydrocarbons & Subsea 7, McDermott International, Dynamic Industries, National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC), JV of Lamprell & Royal Boskalis Westminster and Sapura Energy Berhad, Technip, Hyundai Heavy Industries, and China National Offshore Oil Corporation, officials from eight companies confirmed with Zawya Projects.

"The invitation to bid was issued on 21 September 2020. The bid submission deadline was extended twice, from 11 October to 29 October 2020 and then to 1 November 2020," the source told Zawya Projects, adding that the contract was expected to be awarded by the second week of April 2021.

The tender was issued to the contractors under the offshore LTA pool, he said.

The project is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2023, a second source told Zawya Projects.

The project’s scope of work involves the construction of a new bypass system, interconnecting pipelines, mechanical works, instrumentation works, and other associated facilities, the second source said.
